Highland has a progressive membership policy, encouraging participation of both men and women.

Membership Categories:  

Firefighter:    Make a difference!  Help protect the lives and property of the residents of McCandless and surrounding communities.  New, probationary firefighters participate in an extensive training program.  Prospective firefighters should realize that some aspects of fire ground operations can be physically demanding, and should evaluate their own level of physical fitness; however, there are no absolute age or fitness restrictions in place at this time.

Junior Member:    Our Junior Firefighter program is for residents of the town who are between 16 and 18 years  of age.  It allows high school students to learn firefighting skills in a safe and controlled environment.

Associate Member:    Highland's Associate Member program recognizes that not everyone has the ability or desire to actively fight fires, and so gives residents an opportunity to serve their community in a non-firefighting role.

Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Drills, trainings, and maintenance nights are on the other Tuesdays from 7pm - 9pm. Stop in and check us out!
